This Privacy Policy explains how Body and Science (“Company,” “we,” “our,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data belonging to visitors and customers of bodyandscience.ae (the “Site”). We handle personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the PDPL) and its executive regulations.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you give us

When you place an order, create an account, or contact us, you may provide:

• Name or alias
• Email address
• Shipping and billing address, including emirate or country
• Mobile number, which couriers here need in order to deliver
• Order and correspondence history

1.2 Information collected automatically

• IP address and approximate region
• Browser type and device information
• Cookies and session data
• Pages viewed and site usage analytics

This helps us operate the Site, prevent fraud, and improve the experience.

1.3 Payment information

We do not collect or store full card numbers or bank credentials. Payments are processed by our payment provider, and we receive only a confirmation and the last four digits for order matching.

2. How We Use Your Data, and Our Lawful Basis

Under the PDPL we must have a lawful basis for every use of your personal data. Ours are:

• Performance of a contract — processing, packing, and delivering your order, and providing support on it
• Legal obligation — tax, VAT, customs, and export records
• Legitimate interest — fraud prevention, site security, and improving the Site and the range we carry
• Consent — marketing email and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time

We collect only what we need for these purposes, and we use it only for the purpose it was collected for. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing.

3. Consent and Withdrawal

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and it does not affect data we must keep to meet a legal obligation or to complete an order you have already placed.

4. Who We Share It With

We share the minimum necessary with:

• Couriers — name, delivery address, and mobile number, to deliver your order
• Customs authorities — for GCC deliveries, the recipient details and shipment contents required on export and import declarations
• Payment processors — to take payment and screen for fraud
• Service providers — hosting, email delivery, and analytics, under contract
• Authorities — where a valid legal request under UAE law requires it

Transfers outside the UAE

Some of our service providers store or process data outside the UAE. The PDPL permits such a transfer where the destination has an adequate level of protection, or where appropriate contractual safeguards are in place. We rely on one of those routes for every transfer, and we require each provider to protect the data to a standard comparable to our own. While data is held in another country it is also subject to that country’s laws.

5. Marketing Email

We send marketing email only to people who have opted in, as the PDPL and the TDRA’s rules on unsolicited electronic communications require. Every message identifies us, carries our contact details, and includes a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you placed.

6. Cookies

The Site uses cookies to keep your cart, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; note that blocking them will stop the cart and checkout from working.

7. Data Retention

Order, tax, VAT, and customs records are retained for five years from the end of the tax period they relate to, as UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses and the UAE VAT legislation both require. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Support correspondence is kept for two years. Data is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.

8. Security

The Site runs over TLS encryption, access to customer data is limited to staff who need it, and payment data never touches our servers. If a breach occurs that is likely to prejudice your privacy or confidentiality, we will notify the UAE Data Office and, where the PDPL requires it, you. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Under the PDPL you have the right to:

• Access — confirm what personal data we hold about you and obtain a copy
• Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
• Erasure — have your data deleted, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it
• Restriction — ask us to stop processing while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved
• Portability — receive the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format, or have it transferred
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to direct marketing at any time
• Automated processing — ask that a decision made solely by automated means, and which affects you, be reviewed

To make a request, email support@bodyandscience.ae from the address on your order. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days, at no cost. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.

10. Children

This Site is not directed to anyone under 21 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. You must be 21 or older to purchase. If you believe a minor has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on the Site.
